ROVINJ, (Croatia) 29th April, 2015 – The Red Bull Air Race 2015 World Championship will return in one month for the third stop of the fastest motorsport series in the world in Rovinj on 30th – 31st May, 2015.

“We are very happy and honoured to return to the beautiful landscapes of Croatia,“ said Mr. Erich Wolf, General Manager of Red Bull Air Race at a press conference held today at the Lone Hotel in Rovinj. “Last year was our first time in Croatia and the feedback was outstanding. We are very much looking forward to holding another exciting race to remind the world of the beauty of Rovinj and Croatia”.

Darko Lorencin, Tourism Minister of Croatia explained how Croatia is a key destination for tourists. “Collaboration between Red Bull Air Race and Rovinj represents a great advantage for us to become a recognizable tourist destination but also for overall local community. On this occasion I would like to thank the organizers from Red Bull Air Race for their trust and overall promotion of tourism in Croatia”. Tomislav Popovic CEO from Maistra, partner of the Red Bull Air Race, adds: “It is our great pleasure to welcome an even greater number of visitors to this year’s Red Bull Air Race in Rovinj. We are confident that we will provide them an unforgettable experience of this exciting motorsport.”

In 2014, the Red Bull Air Race landed in Rovinj and was seen as one of the most challenging and exciting races from the calendar due to the difficult and challenging winds. One year later, 14 of the best race pilots will return again to excite thousands of spectators and aviation fans from Europe and all over the world. Austria’s Hannes Arch who finished in first place last year in Rovinj, will be looking to defend his title in the high-speed, low-altitude sport in front of fans from his hometown in Austria.

„I am looking forward to the race in Rovinj as I know lots of Austrian fans will come to watch. I also expect the race will be exciting as its spectacular to race here in the bay as you can feel the fans cheering as it’s so close, so it’s a perfect set-up, „said Hannes Arch (AUT).

Master Class pilot Martin Sonka (CZE) said, “The location in Rovinj has challenging racing conditions, but this is what makes this motorsport so different to others. Due to the winds, it can shift the lines we try to fly on the racetrack. Almost like moving the circuit from underneath a car. But this is what makes our sport exciting as there are many unexpected changes.”
