NYC, 11th place and the first point

There it is! Martin finally gained his first point in the Red Bull Air Race World series. In the qualification as well as in TOP 12, he managed to beat very experienced pilot Sergey Rakhmanin due to Martin’s clear flight. He could also beat a little virosis and gained the 11th position together with his first championship’s point.

Due to little change of weather (stronger wind, higher temperature and humidity),all the pilots reached approximately 2 seconds slower times on Sunday than during qualification on Saturday. The British pilot Paul Bonhomme did his best on the racing track and took the 1st place, other British pilot Nigel lamb took the 2nd place and the 3rd was local pilot Kirby Chambliss. Hannes Arch hit the pylon and took the 4th position.

The next race is taking place on 7th and 8th August only 90 km away from the Czech boundaries, on German’s Lausitz Ring. The only race which won’t be flown above the water surface…
